Mosquitoes are said to be among the most dangerous creatures in the world because of the minor and life taking diseases they cause, which has made people not wanting to see them in their vicinity. A report from the U.S. center for disease control stated that over 1.5 million people on a yearly basic do lose their lives to diseases caused by mosquitoes. Below is a list of 10 deadliest diseases caused by mosquitoes;

1. Dengue Fever
This disease is caused by “Aedes mosquito” and it’s one of the deadliest diseases caused by mosquitoes. It’s known to be familiar with the dwellers of the tropical and subtropical climates. “Dengue mosquitoes” are said to teeming in the cells. The symptoms are fever, headache, joints pains and rashes. There is no actual medication, but doctors are said to be recommending acetaminophen.
2. West Nile Virus
This is animals and birds diseases which is caused by “Culex mosquitoes”, but was discovered to be found in human. It spreads through breast feeding from mother to the children and saliva. It is said to damage the brain and affects blood circulation, but can lead to coma, convulsion and death if proper care is not taken.
This disease comes from the bite of a “Female Anopheles mosquito” which transfer the virus into the blood stream and it’s caused by Plasmodium falciparum vivax. The virus later relocate to the liver to disrupt it proper functioning. The parasite continue to teem within the body causing symptoms like sweating, fever, chills, headaches and severe-flu. Quinine is the most recommended anti malaria drug.
4. Yellow Fever
This disease is caused by “Aedes mosquitoes” and it’s common in South America and Africa. For 4 – 7 days the virus is kept in incubation condition within the body after that, the victim starts showing symptoms headache, nausea and fever. There is no special treatment for this disease, but several vaccinations has been used to cure the infected person, but doesn’t last long i.e. the disease comes back immediately after the vaccine is halted. Preventive measures like hygienic food and healthy environment have been recommended by medical practitioners to reduce the rate of the disease.
5. Rift Valley Fever (RVF)
This disease is caused by RVF virus of “genus Phlebovirus” and “family Bunyaviridae”, and it’s common among people who live with domestic animals like sheep, cow, cattle, buffaloes and goat. Report had it that West Africa, Saudi Arab and parts of Asia had been a serious victim of the disease from 1910 – 2000.

6. Murray Valley Encephalitis
There is no doubt that this disease is another deadly disease caused by mosquito. It’s rare to find people infected with this disease but there is brain tissue damage where the virus is found. The highest rate of this disease is found in Australia. The symptoms of this disease are headache, neck stiffness, seizure and drowsiness.
This is probably another deadly disease caused by mosquito and is caused by Aedes mosquito especially “Aedesaegypti” and “Aedesalbopictus”. The symptoms of this disease are joint pain, headache, back pain, vomiting and skin rashes. The following drugs; ibuprofen, paracetamol and naproxen are used in relieving the disease.

8. Japanese Encephalitis
This disease which is common in Asia, New Guinea and North Queensland, and it’s a brain disease caused by mosquito bite. The symptoms of this disease are; convulsion, headache, coma and high temperature. Vaccination is used by doctors to cure the victims of this disease.
9. Dog Heart Worm (Dirofilariaimmitis)
This disease is common in USA and Canada and it’s a life threatening disease cause by mosquitoes and roundworms. This disease is spread from the bite of a mosquito having the larvae of the roundworm and they got their food from animals like dogs, cats and parrot.

10. Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE)
This is a disease common in horses and human and was found in Mexico and Canada iun the year 1930. There is no vaccine to treat the people infected with this disease and it’s caused by “Culextarsalis”. Report had it that this disease kills over 1000 people yearly.
